I'm Pregnant! (but not with a baby)

Yes I am pregnant.... but not the way you may be thinking! I am pregnant with a product idea (in the beauty market) that has been slowly growing inside me.  This is exciting and scary all at the same time, a lot like it felt when I was pregnant my two children, especially my first one! I have decided, with the encouragement of a dear friend, to share the conception, pregnancy and upcoming birth of my product.  My hope is to inspire other women to commit to making their dreams a reality, whether it be with the development of a product they've created, movement to the career they REALLY desire to have, or the writing of the book they have deep in their heart.  As I began to share my idea with people in my life, I found myself feeling as if I was sharing a precious secret.  I was a bit unsure how my friends would react.  Would they be excited for me or have that look on their face that says "It's a long road, are you sure you really want to do this?"  My...

Is Your Life Stuck on REPEAT?

There is a quote we have probably all heard hundreds of times – “A lesson will repeat itself until the lesson is learned.”   While I do believe the universe “gives” us lessons to learn, I also see and understand how I am co-creating certain situations over and over again in my life!   These situations are destined to repeat themselves until I change my thoughts.   These new thoughts will change my actions, which will then change my results.   What about you? Do you see any repeating situations in your life?   Especially frustrating situations?    Situations or events that you find yourself saying, “Why does this keep happening to me?”   These situations could be in any area of life from your weight, to how co-workers treat you, to how much money is in your bank account, to whether or not you are in a job you enjoy, actually, ANY situation in your life! One way this used to show up in my life was related to my weight. ...

Girls Just Want to Have Fun...

… even though they may not realize it or remember how! This article is dedicated to all the working women, stay-at-home moms, retired women, women in transition, well….. let’s just say all women, myself included! It’s become very apparent to me over the past few months that I have a hard time having FUN!   Don’t get me wrong, I get out and do things I “enjoy” like walks on the beach, dinners at beachfront restaurants, and time with friends and family.   The fun I am talking about is described in the famous quote “Dance like nobody is watching, sing like nobody is listening, …..”.   That totally carefree, in the moment, slightly silly, “who cares how I look” kind of fun!   This kind of fun brings you back to your youth!   It revs up your circulation and brings a sparkle to your eyes!   That’s the fun I’m talking about! Most of my fun is much more controlled, in a box of sorts.   I keep my fun controlled by subconscious thought...

The Key to Keeping Your Plants and Dreams Alive

What is the best way to keep a plant alive?   No, this isn’t a joke, it’s a legitimate question.   You most likely would say - water it on a regular basis.   Yes, correct! What is the best way to keep a dream or goal alive?   It’s the same thing   - water it on a regular basis.   Only the water our goals and dreams need is called ACTION! Would you neglect your plant for a month and then all of a sudden give it a bunch of water and expect it to be full and vibrant and thriving the next day?   Of course not! But how many of us have taken this approach with our goals?   It doesn’t matter if it’s a goal to lose weight, to improve a relationship or to complete a home improvement project - all goals need ongoing action if we are to accomplish them. Raise your hand if you have ever been totally fired up about a new goal, even having gone so far as to taking some massive bold actions to get yourself started toward...

8 Steps to Achieving Your Dreams and Goals

As a Life Coach one of my main roles is to guide my clients in achieving their dreams and goals.   Dreams and goals can be large or small, short term, long term, or anywhere in between.   People tend to be really good at coming up with ideas of things they would love to achieve, to experience or to do.   The struggle tends to be in the journey toward achieving the dream or goal.   If you fall into this camp, you’re in luck!   Here are some practical steps you can follow to achieve any dream or goal you truly desire! 1.      Get clear about your goal “A goal is a dream with a deadline.”   - Napoleon Hill Do you have a dream that seems “out there” or impossible to achieve?   Does it feel frustrating to think about it?   Are you feeling defeated about this dream even before you start it?   Have you thought about what’s standing between you and the dream you would like to achieve?   Take a mom...

Is it time to re-balance your life?

Life is full of so many roles and responsibilities.  At times all our focus may be centered on just a few areas due to family, career, or health demands.  While these things may be necessary for the short term, if we continue this way for the long term we'll start feeling very out of balance! When this happens it's time to pause, evaluate and re-balance.  Taking advantage of a vacation (or even stay-cation) to look at this can be the perfect time to shift our focus and make some adjustments. LIFE SURVEY: How satisfied are you in the following areas? Score each area on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest: Career_____ Education _____ Health _____ Physical Activity _____ Home Cooking _____ Home Environment _____ Relationships _____ Social Life _____ Joy_____ Spirituality_____ Creativity _____ Finances_____ NEXT STEPS: Look at the rating for each area of your life, then answer the following questio...

Hey Good Lookin'!

My dear friend, Dr. Arnie, has a mantra I love:   Look Good.   Feel Good.   Live Longer.   Sounds great, doesn’t it?   Who wouldn’t want that!   So how can we make the mantra come alive for us?   Specifically, what can we do to look good? If you would have asked me this question when I was in my 20’s I would have said I “look good” when I am in shape, have my hair fixed, make-up on and am nicely dressed. “Mmmmm, mmmmm… lookin’ good!”   Now, being a bit wiser,   I believe looking good goes way beyond my external appearance and wholeheartedly believe that looking good is more of an inside job. This inside job refers to my internal health in three key areas: ·       self-talk ·       self-love ·       self-acceptance Several years ago I started to pay closer attention to how I was doing in each of these areas and once I became really mindful o...
